Award-winning radio personality, media personality and minister Sabina D’Great, popularly known as NaijaPastor, is celebrating a major milestone after completing an extensive cancer treatment journey and receiving medical confirmation that she is cancer-free.
Sabina’s journey began in April 2024, when she discovered a lump in her breast. Following further medical investigations, including a biopsy, she was diagnosed with HER2-positive breast cancer on March 25, 2025.
Rather than keeping the diagnosis public, Sabina initially shared it within a close circle of family, friends, ministry leaders and prayer partners. She anchored her faith journey on Isaiah 53:5, while simultaneously submitting herself to medical care.
Her treatment included chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. The journey was physically and emotionally demanding, with severe complications following her first chemotherapy cycle requiring emergency medical intervention and critical care.
Despite the difficulties, Sabina continued through her treatment, supported by her daughter Debbie, her siblings, church communities, friends, ministry partners and a wider network of people who consistently prayed, provided practical assistance and helped sustain her family throughout the season.
A significant milestone came following her surgery in October 2025. At a subsequent post-surgery appointment, Sabina received what she describes as her “Proof of Testimony”, a medical report showing no detectable cancer.
On August 24, 2026, Sabina officially completed her treatment journey by ringing the final bell at the Precision Cancer Center in Katy, Houston, in the presence of her oncologist, Dr. Monalisa Alatar, Dr. Kevin, chemotherapy nurses and loved ones.
Her breast specialist and surgeon, Dr. Tamara Saunders, and radiologist Dr. Phamsubsequently cleared her, marking the completion of a journey that included chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy.

For Sabina, the testimony is not only about the outcome but also about the people and processes through which she was sustained. She acknowledges the role of medical professionals alongside the prayers, support and generosity of family, friends, churches and ministry communities.
She particularly honours her daughter, Debbie, who served as her primary caregiver throughout the most difficult periods of treatment, as well as her siblings and the many individuals and communities who supported them spiritually, emotionally and financially.
The journey also included profound personal loss. In April 2026, while recovering and preparing to return to active life, Sabina lost her beloved eldest sister, Flora. She describes the period that followed as a season of grief and depression, even as she continued recovering from cancer.
Today, Sabina is choosing to use her experience as a message of hope, faith, resilience and gratitude.
She believes her testimony should not remain private but should become a platform for encouraging people facing difficult circumstances, while acknowledging that healing and recovery can involve both faith and medical intervention.
“Yahweh heals,” Sabina says, reflecting on the journey. “He may use a route you are not familiar with, but Yahweh heals.”
Following her recovery, Sabina is now open to speaking engagements, partnerships and collaborations across gospel, secular, community and advocacy platforms, particularly opportunities that allow her to share a message of hope with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
